The MR983368 is a genuine Mitsubishi output shaft oil seal that fits the transfer case where the tailshaft connects. It prevents gear oil from leaking out of the transfer case at the driveshaft yoke, ensuring proper lubrication and protecting the transfer case from damage.

If you notice oil dripping from the rear of the transfer case, this seal is the most common source of the leak. Over time, heat, driveline movement, and wear on the seal lip can cause it to harden or tear, allowing oil to escape.
